Strikey Pinsworth
Origins
Strikey Pinsworth first rolled into the WSDB studio lobby during a thunderstorm, wearing a tiny trench coat, dragging a duffel bag, and yelling about barometric pressure.
When asked who he was, he shouted:
“I’M YOUR NEW WEATHERCASTER AND THIS FRONT IS NO JOKE.”
No one had posted a job opening.
He was hired anyway.
Since then, he’s become Snowdrift Bay’s premier (and only) meteorological authority, delivering the weather with startling intensity, unfiltered emotion, and occasionally—hand puppets.
Species & Appearance
Strikey is a living bowling pin, roughly three feet tall, with a classic red stripe, shiny white finish, and expressive black eyes just below his smooth curve. His mouth is small but extremely loud.
He wears:
Tiny clip-on ties
A custom lapel mic
Occasionally a miniature windbreaker with “WSDB” stitched across it
Despite his size, Strikey has the voice and presence of a man three times his height and twice his caffeine intake.
Personality
Strikey is fiery, passionate, oversharing, and desperately eager to be understood. He takes his job extremely seriously and treats every drizzle like a category five crisis. He is quick to anger, even quicker to forgive, and talks way, way too much.
His defining traits:
Cannot read social cues
Turns every “hello” into a 40-minute monologue
Genuinely believes everyone cares about the dew point
He doesn’t mean to trap people in conversation. He just thinks everyone must want to know about his digestive issues, marital bliss, and vintage barometer collection. Spoiler: they don’t.
Profession
Strikey is the WSDB weathercaster, handling live broadcasts, storm warnings, pollen counts, and the occasional community outreach event that gets derailed by his “brief” personal anecdotes.
His tools of the trade include:
Color-coded maps
Weather puppets (Stormy Steve and Sunny Suzanne)
Hand-scrawled notes labeled “Urgent Fog Feelings”
His segments are… passionate. Sometimes chaotic. Always accurate.
Relationships
Seraphina Pinsworth (Wife): A stunning, elegant, graceful socialite with model-like poise and movie star looks. No one can figure out how they’re together—but they are. Happily. Seraphina calls him “the most tender soul she’s ever known.” He cries every time she says it. Frequently refers to her on air, often mid-sentence, like: “...and there’s a 60% chance of rain, just like the 60% chance I thought I had with Seraphina before she miraculously said yes.”
Chomp McAllister: Friendly, but avoids him in the break room. Once got caught in a 30-minute weather-and-love-life chat and has never recovered.
Beekeeper Jones: She tolerates him with unusual patience. He once asked her about humidity and she replied, “It comes. It goes. Like devotion.” He cried.
Yorn: Strikey idolizes Yorn’s stoicism and once tried to hug him. Yorn picked him up and set him gently on a bench. Strikey interpreted it as “a moment.”
Brenda: Finds him exhausting but keeps inviting him on the podcast “for the ratings.” Their most recent episode was titled “Rainfall, Romance, and Regret.”
Philip: Avoids him like the plague. Once pretended to be asleep while standing just to escape a conversation.
Notable Lore & Moments

Was supposed to give a weather update. Instead gave a 12-minute speech about his honeymoon, a suspicious goose, and the symbolism of lemon meringue. Crowd clapped. He still doesn’t know why.
